The first Labor Day holiday was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1882, in New York City. Then in 1884, the first Monday in September was selected as the holiday.
Labor Day was established as a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
This can be a moment of pride for all of us.
Everything that we have is here because people worked hard to build it. They overcome obstacles, hardships, and setbacks. They endured every imaginable type of discomfort. And yet, they persisted.
We must continue to do the same.
There are huge challenges ahead and we need everybody.
Key Point: Take a moment to be grateful for the people who built what we have.
Much success,
